Making it in Comics the @NateCosboom way!
July 19th, 2010 by Riff
Ikea make some great furniture, but it can be a bitch to nail together even when it’s going right. Add into that mix some bad beer and even worse food from the game and we’ve been really fortunate to have @NateCosboom on twitter – better known as Nathan Cosby, Marvel Editor – share some pearls [...]

Laying out a Comics Page
June 25th, 2009 by Riff
Here’s a bit more dealing with comic creation – this time, unusually for me it’s a commercial site but has some great shorts and advice. It’s a site called Utrecht Art, a company dealing in all kinds of art supplies and their site gives some great hints, tips and advice for anyone with an artistic [...]

Marvel are making a big thing of their [...]

Art or Artifact: Comics as Commodity or Entertainment.
February 22nd, 2009 by Riff
Comicbooks aren’t for kids any more it seems. Hell some of them aren’t for grown-ups either. For many they seem to be a cash cow, an investment, something to be stored in vaults, in plastic (or better still foil) bags, in acid-free cardboard boxes in low ultra-violet light, never to actually be read or enjoyed, [...]

Massively Launch new Web Comic!
February 20th, 2009 by Riff
And guess what… first glimpse features our very very favourite game, City of Heroes with a bit of a chuckler! That’s right. Massively are big CoX fans, and do give the best MMO out there a lot of positive coverage, often despite NCsoft’s best efforts and are now launching a weekly comic dedicated to the [...]

Pet Avengers Assembling (after Walkies)
February 19th, 2009 by Riff
Marvel’s Marvellous Mutts (and other animals) spring into action with the new Pet Avengers series, lead by Lockjaw (technically he’s an Inhuman umm dog) but this looks like an off beat whimsical and fun mini-series. Nothing too serious here but a great idea and I think Chris Eliopoulos will do a sterling job. It also [...]

Comicbook Legends
February 13th, 2009 by Riff
Comicbook Myths and Legends Interesting comments in this link. I don’t know how seriously to take it, nor the impact of it but hey, it’s fun and gives a little insight into how the industry works. My personal take in it’s more quirky than anything else but you’ll probably enjoy some of the snippets there. [...]

Here Is Your Chance To Help Gene Colan…
July 4th, 2008 by Eblison
I’d like to follow up a previous blog about Gene Colan’s difficulty paying for his medical care. In Gene Colan Needs Our Help, I gave a list of items that were being auctioned off to help this comic legend. If you found those items a little out of your price range, don’t worry. Marvel [...]
